Substrate2021

Substrate is a series of Polaroids, where the chemical development of each photograph was altered by materials found at the site of shooting. Rocks pressed against the developing surface, twigs scrapipng their way into the emulsion, dirt interfered with the chemical spread. The landscape doesn't just appear in the photograph—it physically reshapes how the image comes into being. What emerges is both a picture of a place and the place itself acting on its own representation.
